Song of Auditor

Storyline: Ariel wants to be an auditor but Sebastian the lobster tries to talk her out of it!

Dedicated to all auditors (past, present and future): It's not an easy job!

Hope all auditors can have a good laugh and survive the peak!

Lyrics:
They warn you about going through peak
When you step into audit
Everyday do casting, vouching
And also cross referencing
You must know how to debit credit
If not you can't tie your balance sheet
You whole day press your calculator
Now can count faster than the cashier!

I wanna SI (die in hokkien)
I wanna SI (die in hokkien)
After pluck leadsheet
Still must do timesheet
More work for me!!
Why can't everything be I/C
Suggest leave, go home watch TV
Office so messy
Cant find my teh-C
I wanna SI (die in hokkien)!

When people are going through peak
No time to work out and keep fit
When parents ask us go home to eat
We cant, we eating with colleague
On some days when we are lucky
We can go home early 6.30!
Do you know what's AUDITOR's meaning
All U Do Is Think Of Resigning

I wanna SI (die in hokkien)
I wanna SI (die in hokkien)
I want throw letter
Straight at the partner
Take it from me!!
We work late hours everyday
But we get so dam little pay
We can claim taxi but can't claim OT
I want MC!!!!

Investment Analysis

Just back from Investment Analysis class.
I feel its so hard on the first class. I feel like giving up. I even calculate my cgpa if i get this and that grade for every subject i took this semester, including Investment Analysis. Oh my gosh! Stressful~
Why i am not the smart and intelligent student? =(

Anyway, before the class ends, i flashed back what my mentor told me last week. He ask me to take this subject cause it will be a credit for me when i go for interview. And he keeps stress this sentence, "don't give up, i believe you". So i guess you know what decision i had made..yup, that's right! I will continue taking this subject with more effort! As much effort as my other killer papers!
No more play play..i shall start do my revision tonight! No more slacking!

I need to determine and have strong discipline to myself!
Guan yin ma, please give me more power to overcome this semester. I will be a good person. =)

And to the peoples around me, please bear with me if i am very stress and don't go out with you!

From now on, i should reduce my sleeping time! Sleep only when i am really tired.. =)

p/s: darling, we gambateh together! =)

Mixed Feelings..

Just got my result few hours ago.
To be honest, i suppose to be happy because my CGPA increase 0.01.
At least got improvement la..horrr? =/

This time I have more A's compare with last semester. That's a good sign. =)
I must keep working hard! What about the killer paper, advance accounting. I got a really bad grade. I thought lecturer will help us but not much i guess. They are very strict in marking.
I cried the moment i see my result. But then when i bathing, i asking myself, have i did my best?

So i can proudly tell everyone, I had did my best! I had put on my best! I am satisfied with other subject actually..i am happy but Advance Accounting ruined it! That's why im having mixed feeling..even until now! =(

Congrats those who get good grade and try better who are not..

Though no one tell me this yet..but i still wanna syok sendiri..
I am glad and grateful.. =) (assume i can;t see my AA grade.. =p)
I did well because with my standard still can get improve my pngs and pngk. =)
I am great because in this suck+packed timetable, i still manage to get this result!

Hopefully I will do better next semester! And after that, enjoy with my darling and friends before my industrial training starts. I'm gonna tell my employer, please see my hard work and capability in working, not my result.. =)

another hit today

Got one of my midterm result today. Its not very low but i guess now high enough if compare with my coursemates. Too many geniuses in class that make me think that i am the loser in class. Thou my marks is not the lowest but i think its top 10 lowest. =(

I hate this kind of feelings.. and feel disappoint too because whenever i spend a lot time and effort for each paper, but i still can't overtake them.. I know its bad to compare.. I always tell my friends not to compare, do our best it is good enough. But.. guess only a few people will understand how i feeling.. =(

Final exam starts on 27 October and ends on 11 November. Really wish I'd perform better!
Gambateh..

National Accounting Career Conference(NACC) 2009

Last Friday I went to Universiti Putra Malaysia(UPM) for NACC 2009.
It was organized by Universiti Putra Accounting Club(UPAC) =)
p/s: sorry if this post is boring or what..
i am sleepy now so..hehe..faham faham lar..
try to read finish and in the of the post, vote the reaction okay? =)

This is the first national conference organized by UPAC. They see the relevance of this conference in developing undergraduate students personally and professionally. This is also a new event to be undertaken by UPAC to promote and increase the awareness of the career path of accountancy among the students. NACC 2009 will also become the platform to provide the latest information on the career world of accountancy profession by communicating and disseminating ideas and promoting best practises and innovation to the university students of accountancy in Malaysia. =)

I was one of the representatives from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia(UKM).
I feel kinda disappointed cause I was hoping there will have maybe 2nd or 3rd year student joining but sadly, most of them were first year and they not even major in Accounting yet. Anyway, at least there are 16 of us going =)

We have out 3rd year senior, Fiona and May(Pemaisuri) and 2nd year senior William, Charlene and Me. *winks*
While the first year students were Jennifer, Rachel, Susan, Yau Yau, Xue Fen, Xue Bing, Ang Ang aka Xue Hong and Ming Yung the piggy. hahaha. I remember their names in 1day time. =p

group picture before the leaving UKM ;)
(william was the camera man)

**FIRST DAY**
We arrived UPM around 9am. It took a few minutes for us to go Kolej 16th for registeration. UPM was really big. I think triple bigger than UKM. *ehem ehem*
Did you know, UPM is the largest local university among all the IPTAs in Malaysia? =p
At 11.30m, the Director of NACC, Wong Zheng Long give us introduction about NACC. He look quite blur and his eyes very small. =p
Xue Fen and Rachel
the piggy! not me not me! =p
After that, we have 3 hours break as the muslims went for their prayer. Therefore I contact my matriculation friends(Ann Ying, Tracy and Mei Wen) who studied in UPM to meet me. =)
At 3pm, we wait for UPM bus to go their Faculty of Economic and Management(FPP). But who knows the commitee members failed to get us a bus. We need to sit the usual bus that UPM students took. We waited so long for the bus. We missed a few bus also because there are too many students at the bus stop. *sigh*
taking picture in bus.. XD
When we at FPP, we only able to visit the Career Fair for a short while. I wish i can spent longer time but we have Ice Breaking at Panggung Pecubaan which is just opposite FPP. =)

Top: Yau Yau, Ang Ang, Charlene, Jennifer, Rachel, Xue Fen, Ming Yung, and Susan
Down: William, ME, May, Fiona, Xue Bing
At night, its opening ceremony of NACC.
*SECOND DAY*
I think it will be quite boring if i tell everything so detail, right?
Plus, I don't have the ability to make attractive sentence.haha.
So, i just state out what Career Talk we had okay? =)
  1. CPA Australia: An Accounting Qualification with Global Recognition, by Mr Edwin Wong
  2. Built your Career in Big Four, by Mr Mohd Muazzam bin Mohamed (Partner of KPMG)
  3. Prospective of Accounting Student in Government Sector, by En Md Hatta Md Jauhar from Jabatan Tenaga Kerja

Overall, what i get from the career talk is something more than I know before this. Like CPA Australia, I don't know it's the largest in Australia and it globally recognised. Besides that, if we passed all the CPA Australia papers then we will automatically registered as MIA members. Also, we will have "CPA" at the end of our name after getting a CPA confirmation. But now, I'm not really interested in CPA Australia althought most of the PWC(one of the big four) has most employer holding CPA. hehe.

While for KPMG, the speaker was good. He basically telling us the advantages of studying in accounting field. And advise us to apply KPMG for internship. They also will provide us study leave if we're employed after graduate and still want to take up professional papers. KPMG hopes all their employee are graduate from chartered professional bodies. Ohya, for the internship, they require at least cgpa 3.00 but of course, the higher is better. Other than cgpa, they also will look for extra curricular activities. And for your information, you need to take their 3 writing papers before shortlisted to get the interview. It's cool. =)

While for government sector, the advantages is we have lots of holidays but the salary not as high as what private accounting firm gave. Through out the career talk on government sector, I realised the hardest task for accountant/auditor/tax consultant is they need to spend ALL the budget which is given. haha! You know why, its because the rakyat give the money, so we must full use it for kebaikan rakyat. Guess that's one of the difference between Private and Government sector. Private want to minimize the cost as low as they can to earn more profit while government sector have to use all the budget given. =)

After listen for Career Talk, we have Dinner Party at Cyberview Lodge and Spa resort. We do have fun that night. Thanks to the commitee members again for organised some fun games for us. They were great. haha.

the guy in middle is Wong Zheng Long! ;)

*LAST DAY* =(

On the last day, we only have TWO career talk which are:

  • ACCA Professional Stage and Master Opportunity in UK
  • Forum on "Current Challenges to Accountants"

By Adjunct Professor of FPP

Panel:

  1. Yg Bhg Dato Mohd. Nasir Ahmad, CEO of PUNB
  2. Dato' Nordin Baharuddin, President of MICPA
  3. Dr. Alan Yoon Chung Sin, Alan Yoon Associates

Okay..pictures time!! =p
